Since 01.01.2009, the DTZ in Berlin/GERMANY has an additional way to represent neuroendocrine tumors. The measurement principle is similar to the known somatostatin receptor scintigraphy, however, has a much higher specificity, sensitivity, accuracy and detail resolution.
This is done by a Ge68/Ga68- generator system in conjunction with DOTATOC, creating a somatostatin receptor affinity substance (SST2) which is available.
It can be diagnosed pheochromocytomas, neuroblastomas, ganglioneuromas, paragangliomas, carcinoids, gastrinomas, insulinomas, Glukakonome, VIPom, medullary thyroid carcinomas, Merkel cell carcinoma, Small cell lung cancer, meningiomas and others.
