Preface

Neuroendocrine tumors are a diverse group of malignant diseases, the diagnosis, classification and stage-specific therapy is a challenge. Given the relative rarity and heterogeneity of patients with neuroendocrine tumors, ideally in a center or with a specialist to be treated. The diagnosis of metastatic poorly differentiated neuroendocrine tumor is large, despite advances in modern cancer therapy, alas, still remains a situation in which a cure is rarely possible.

This book describes the experiences of an impressive ill mother whose son is an aggressive neuroendocrine tumor and eventually died. With vivid language the author describes the experiences associated with the illness of your son and attempts a "normal" family life for as long as possible to maintain. In particular, the needs of a young patient with a fatal tumor disease are pointed out. This is also clear that an advanced technological medical system such as ours can not meet all these needs.

I wish the book „Guten Tag und Tschüss“ a wide circulation and hope that it provides individuals and their families help in dealing with an aggressive tumor.

Acknowledgments

My heartfelt, sincere thanks go to Ms. Petra König from Berlin. With your active support we have received important information about the disease, contacts with doctors, hospitals and relatives of patients who have experienced similar. Mrs. König worked tirelessly to advertise themselves. I'll let you speak it yourself:

Dear Reader,

Please let me begin by thanking the Jansen family. Arriving at the end of this reading, are pressing us many times "why" on. The one "to answer why", not within our power. But "why" you give us, dear family, Jansen, personal, intimate thoughts, fear, despair, love, faith and hope and ... read this book so clearly?

This book is a message to all and a plea for "attention" to established physicians, to research, diagnostics, health insurance and the public. Still, the parties must go long distances before they reach the diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The neuroendocrine tumor (NET), and carcinoid tumor (Carcinoid Engl.) Referred to as an even more rare type of tumor may be deemed, where in recent years by becoming better and better diagnostics, indicate an ever increasing number of stakeholders, often detected very late .

As affected even by NeT, I have been working since 1999 in the sense of self. Thus, research on disease causes, diagnosis and treatment is strongly supported, was founded in the sense of self on 09.03.2006 The Carcinoid call-point gGmbH. As a nonprofit organization composed of NeT sufferers and their families works Carcinoid call-point gGmbH in the interests of those affected. Now I would like to thank all those involved that made it possible "to make ... Good day and goodbye" available to the public and hope "attention."

Please help us help you!
Thank you

A special kind of art exhibition

Dear web site visitor!

Some years ago a young member of my family came home with a carcinoid diagnosis. Filled with despair – and naturally also anxiety – we went in search of information and fellow-sufferers with whom we could converse.

It was then that we met Petra König. We were promptly informed to an extraordinary degree about this type of tumour. We were able to approach the treatment in a relaxed way and in full knowledge.

Meanwhile the patient is doing well, and I wish to express my thanks to Mrs. König for her helpful information. Therefore I have decided to make my pictures available to the non-profit company “Carcinoid call-point”. It will receive a part of the sales value, which will hopefully help the company in its so urgently necessary work.

You can reach me at the telephone number shown below, and I would be delighted if we could come together in support of this important area of public work.
