1. Neuroendocrine tumor day! It is a great success that our rare disease  became a growing awareness by physicians and the public in the past 10 years. In this decade, much has happened.

A brief review of the history of the NET Support

In October 2000, was based in Berlin, the first self-help group.
48 founding members from all provinces continued to actively committed to creating their own initiative and independent organization for the exchange of information and ideas.

2004 saw the first international meeting of self-help groups in the Charité Berlin. Under the direction of Professor Wiedenmann was decided to organize Europe in the sense of self-help.

2006, founded the nonprofit company Carcinoid-call-point. One task is to present multidisciplinary medical departments that are involved in diagnosis and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors.

What are the solutions we expect for the future?

The research in medicine and technology indisputably provided in the course of recent years that medical advances to significantly improve the life chances and quality led.

But what about the acceptance of innovative device technology in our country, which provided a much better diagnostics? When evidence is available to care? Why is it taking so long to bring a new drug is approved?

These questions will occupy us further. Are we asking for a globally successful 1st Neuroendocrine Tumor day. Let us celebrate this day in our thoughts also affected, which can not be here with us anymore.
